Hi John, you work with Wendover Ambulance in UT, correct? I am very interested in part-time work, and I am having trouble finding out who to contact to inquire about employment opportunities. I just got my NREMT (EMT-Basic) and Utah License. Could you point me in the right direction?

Hello! I saw your post about the New Mexico exam. I just got my temp license and have to have my full license before I can start my job. Was the test hard or is it early passable? I have my FP-C and just got my CCP-C and I have three years of experience. Did you study for it or go in raw?

Go raw. I think it was easier than NREMT so definitely easier than FP-C and CCP-C. Are you gonna work flight in New Mexico?

Yes. I got a travel flight job in New Mexico. I am scared I am not going to pass this exam the first time. I get hella test anxiety. Was it it pretty straight forward? Lot is dosing questions? Or would you call it soft ball type medic questions?

I don't remember all the details, I took the test I think 3 years ago, but I didn't consider it hard.

Hey! i see your from PA. I just finished my second shift and it was really hard. Do you have any advice? Ive noticed I know almost nothing. But also that the other emts are arrogant and cocky and mean to me. Thanks!

I want to buy ambulance stretchers and will pay for used but functioning ambulance stretchers. Preferably stryker power pro xt, mx-pro, stryker stair chairs and Ferno Power and manual stretchers. Anyone else have to wait for their Initial Ambulance license to be reviewed at the DMV headquarters?? How long did you have to wait to hear a response? If you’re guessing…the answer is yes I live in CA🥹😂

Feeling discouraged…

Applied for my Ambulance Cert passed with flying colors…wasn’t issued a temporary because I checked yes on one of the boxes. My license was suspended last year because I failed a knowledge/Skills test but took it again and passed and my license was reinstated, but now they are saying my previous suspension needs to be reviewed before they approve. anyone else run into this issue?

Other than that one Suspension my driving record is clean. No citations ever, no convictions, never even been in a car accident before, any words of encouragement or advice would be greatly appreciated🙏🏾

I have a couple questions if you don’t mind? I just graduated paramedic school and I am interested in a flight officer position with CHP, what is the timeline looking like right now? I understand you need to complete the academy then 2 years as a road officer, is their current openings for officers that have their paramedic? What is the schedule for a flight officer? 12/42?

Sorry for the delay, I haven’t logged in for awhile.

There are several flight officer/medic openings currently but there are also lots of patrol positions open too. The department prioritizes patrol spots over flying so the air program is pretty low staffing wise until the patrol side gets built back up.

We have 8 air bases and they work 4/10’s or a 9/80.

I get that the department prioritizes patrol positions as that is the backbone of the dept. Which air bases normally take the new flight officers? Also do protocols go off of what county your airbase is located in?

There aren’t openings frequently enough for one base to get noticeably more new people than others.

Yes, our protocols are from the county we’re based in. Personally I work off Riverside County protocols even if we respond to neighboring counties.
