So if you could spend a month working in any EMS department in the world which would you pick and why? Let's assume that language wasn't an issue and your training was sufficient to put you in whatever system you choose.

Israel.

Detroit.

Boring I know but I am from London and would like to try the London Ambulance Service

Eh. It really isn't that great. I work in mini Detroit. It get's old.

I would like to either work Las Vegas, or this "amazing" system n7lxi keeps talking about. Or New York. Lol I can't choose.

New Zealand. Hopefully will have an observer shift or two soon just to rub it in. Alternatively I'd like to actually see what Boston EMS is all about. I work in Boston but I don't quite do the same thing. Plus Boston is one of the few large cities left where basics are still found doing things on their own (for better or for worse).

Seconded. I'd also like to spend some time with Lee-County EMS

In the US? Boston or King County.

Outisde the US? London Ambulance Service.

Medic One for sure

I lived in Detroit for 12 years. That is one of the last places I would want to work. No offense if you love it. Everyone has their cup of tea. The city didn't do me any favors and the winters are the suck.

Every big city has more than it's fair share of OD/ETOH/drugs but I've got to imagine the numbers there are outrageous.

For a time I lived next to crack heads that robbed the pizza guy at my door. I found this out when I called and they wouldn't come to my house. Before they moved in, my block was pretty solid.

What's mini Detroit?

Most definitely NYC.

I was saying Detroit EMS isn't that great. They cut corners, provide sub par care, and have bare basics protocols. Their goal is to drop a pt and run to the next. Which is definitely understandable because of their call volume, I just wouldn't want to work a shift with them.

I work in Pontiac.

Gotcha. I worked in Pontiac for a minute, but that was a long time ago. :)

US - Wake Co.

Other - Jo'Burg SA, SECAmb UK, Holland, NSW or QLD Australia,

In the states? I already work for the best. ;)

I'd like to work in the UK. I really enjoyed Mark Glencorse's take on the NHS as a medic.

I've love to go to NSW just because of the show, looked like they had a very decent system.

Disney World, ATcEMS, London, Yellowstone, Deep in Alaska.

It's hard to limit the list.
