An 86-year-old female named Linda calls 911 after falling down getting out of bed this morning. Linda has called 911 every Monday for the same reason for the last four weeks. She has been found in the same spot each time. Linda is helped to her feet and reports feeling better.

A. Linda has no injuries.
B. Linda has an injury and should be transported to the hospital.

What's the goal of your research?

Not enough info to tell if she is injured or not. Should she have an assessment done? Sure. Should we try to do some investigation as to why this always occurs on a Monday? Yes.

You are worried about skewing results when your poll question is quite horrible itself? I do not think you are able to DM yet either as new as you are.

So just post the true intent of your research, then the scenario/question with hopefully more details.

Sounds like a typical scenario for a lift assist call. But there's not enough information presented here to say either "lift to chair/bed/etc, k thanks bye!" Or "Dispatch, start us an ambulance".

Namely, is Linda Alert and Orientated? What caused the fall, why is she on the ground? Any loss of consciousness? Any injuries? Does she complain of any pain or anything? Does she *want* an ambulance/go to the hospital?

The answers to these mean the difference between clearing the call or calling for EMS

And haven't even mentioned taking any vital signs yet, just some basic questions and visual survey (amd palpating head/neck), not even a full assessment.

More possible responses:
C. Linda has no injuries but should be taken to the hospital.
D. Linda has a medical problem and should be taken to the hospital.

F. Linda is lonely and calls the big, strong medics to come visit her.

G. Linda needs to sleep in on Mondays.

H. Linda should sleep on other side of bed every Sunday to be found in a different spot.

I’ll bite. B. If the same thing is happening four weeks in a row, something is up.

I. Linda is a MediCare abuser and should be in a long term care home with soft restraints.

Linda has no injuries BASED upon the scenario. Linda should be advised to consult her PCP for eval for syncope and possible referral for a mental health eval.

I'm only amazed at how long it took for this thread to go sideways....
