Thanks! I also do 100 sit-ups w/o a break, but I'm not sure what those other exercises are... *googles them*
How many push-ups could you do when you first started?
Normally I have a fully stocked first aid kit, SAR/survival kit, change of clothes, full gore-tex suit, etc (stored in the minivan...yes, I drive one too!)
On my person, I'll usually have 2 or 3 knives, wallet, cell phone, watch, and my trusty paracord bracelet!
I was a SAR medic for a few years before I took the class, and had CPR/AED/Basic first aid certs.
Know these like the back of your hand:
ABC
SAMPLE
OPQRST
AVPU
RICE
Also, if you can practice taking blood pressures, pulses, etc
...and look over the current CPR guidelines.
I have a Timex triathlon. Smae thing, with a black plastic face. Still looks new after a year of use! Love that watch. It's also small, and slim. If it ever breaks, I'll be buying the same one again.
Well, since it's your own daughter, that makes it a lot more personal. At that point you were in parent mode, not this-is-my-job-I'm-an-EMTB mode.
But yeah, I'd say that's a normal reaction

I agree, answer the question and move on. Flipping out on someone for not searching will just scare them off. (however I know it can be irritating at times)
I always have an "emergency" bag in my car with 50' of 8mm dynamic rope, carabeaners...
Exactly. Funny story too...however it's a shame people are like that. Guys out there risking his health / life and you're (parient) going to be jerk and refuse, because he is black?!!
That's just stupid.
Yeah, just just have to be careful not to pull the skin off, exposing the blister.
Duct tape works best when placed over hotspots to avoid the blisters from forming. That's probably what you meant... Just stating that for the lurkers that may not know.
But you can also use duct tape for making shelters, securing the patient to a stokes basket / litter, making an improvised litter, etc. Basically, I already have it, may as well use it.
You made a good point about weight though. It all depends on how much you can carry, how fit you are, and if...
