My unit holds 68W sustainment classes every month, and our senior NCOs ensure that everyone meets recert standards every year. Most other units do not do this. We always have last minute additions to our classes from other units.
Tonight, we celebrated the completion of my bachelors degree with 22 friends at a local Mexican restaurant. Things went downhill when I was handed a random shot of some sort of liquor (not sure it wasn't gas), followed by another and another and another. So I returned the favor by buying the...
I was working in the lab over the weekend and we always get a few people who are scared to death of needles. My squad leader told one of them that I was his best bet for a good stick since I wasn't drunk any more
Sounds like a good combination to me. The group I work out with is using Crossfit Football (http://www.crossfitfootball.com/) as our base, then following it with alternating abs and strength/endurance exercises. Additionally, I run 4-6 miles every other day. This regimen has made my PT tests...
I recorded specific lectures because I had one instructor who hated power point yet he talked up a storm and drew all over the boards. The recordings helped me keep up when my writing hand cramped up.
I've been considering volunteering at our local rescue squad, but it's hard to find the time between work, school, and family. It would be nice to use some of my skills other than the health clinic related ones.
I complain because I want my cake and I want to eat it, too. I plan to attend PA school, but I also have some other things I would like to accomplish.
Combat_Medic, how long do you have to wait before you can make another attempt?
Unfortunately, my unit refuses to send anyone to get their EFMB. In fact, we can't get any schools unless they directly impact the unit's mission. So, my unit will bend over backwards to help me get into PA school because they desperately need PAs, but I can't go for my EFMB, flight medic, etc. lol
This is the life: Tornado weather blowing through, I can hear the neighbor's baby crying over the sound of the thunder (window is open), and I have a boat load of homework to do.
Well, I was just getting ready for some time off of work due to the possible government shutdown. I had my fishing pole and golf clubs all set, then the jerks in DC had to ruin it all......will be back to work at 0600 Monday morning with no prospects for a break until block leave at the end of...
I ate too much fried fish, beer, hush puppies, beer, fries, beer, pie, beer, cookies, beer, cole slaw, beer, potato salad, and beer tonight :-) We had a great party at work!
I'm licensed as an EMT in my state, but I've never actually worked EMS other than clinical rotations. Currently, I'm working full time as a 68W for the National Guard. Full time Guard is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! My drilling unit is the state medical command, and I spend most of my drill weekends...
Yeah, you'll get active pay plus BAH if you qualified for it.
Unless something has changed, it's a 17 week course unless you are there for Christmas. In that case, it's 19 weeks, but you get to fly home (on your dime) for those 2 extra weeks. You can get weekend passes, but you still have to...
