From what I understand, we are currently hiring now. We have a few EMT's that are starting in the next couple of weeks. That being said, I don't think we hired anyone for the past like 6-8 months or so. We are still a little short on medics but have a surplus of EMT's which complicates things.

I'd try and apply to VV and if you get in, great. If you get the job at Lancaster and nowhere else, then take it. A 911 EMS job isn't something to pass up on.

It isn't terribly hard to transfer here. We get transfers from other divisions all the time and we have had people transfer in from Lancaster. It's a standard process to transfer. You interview at VV like a regular person but have more questions as to why you are transferring divisions. Then you are hired and the Lancaster Op manager has to release you before you can start in VV.

Well it's been about a year since I left McCormick, and mother year and a half since I went thru the hiring process, and they've since gone thru a bunch of expansion and whatnot so all that's changed. About the only advice I can give is to know your EMT stuff, and know how to read a Thomas Guide map book

Yes, they should be required to follow CMS guidelines. I'm not sure what it would be that would allow them NOT to follow those guidelines.
Thanks for your reply. I asked around, it seems only LA coded it as ALS. Dose LA do not need to follow CMS regulation?
hey, hows it going? Im new to this site and not sure if im sending you a message the correct way. I saw some of your posts and noticed that you were from FL and work for King County. I also work at a fire Dpt down in South Fl and am interested in King County, I was wondering if you would be able to answer some questions for me?
Medical Assistant-C, Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist (COHC) and Breath Alcohol Testing Certified
Interested in anything you may have for the FL medic test. Please let me know if you still available.
Hey Merck,

thank's a lot for your nice offer and we would love to let you know when we visit British Colombia! We are planning to visit Canada if possible for a few months next year. Do you know if there are even possibilities to get a short term job as a European Paramedic as a Paramedic, Ambulance driver, First Responder, First Aid trainer etc. ?

All the best,
Jan
