Hey guys. I am a part time instructor at an EMT school. Sometimes I sub, do skills, teach refreshers, cpr, I like to stay well rounded. When I teach classes though, I like to show a video at the end of every 10 minute break and coming back from lunch. Usually, it's something funny, not necessarily educational, but I try to keep it related to the material. For example, before peds, I'll show the baby Pantera video, which is a 1 year old banging on a tiny drum set with the help of his dad. It relaxes the students, and puts them in a good material retaining mood. Sometimes it's family guy clips too. Just found this new video of the spider in the phone trick "I told you not to do that" so I'll be showing that one for the environmental emergencies, or psychotic. For the communications chapter, I show a batt chief running a structure fire from the driver's seat of his vic (very good job), then show the aurora shooting video which is audio only of the emergency traffic between the depts (very bad job) so they can grasp how it should be done. These are just examples.
So, I'm looking for any videos that you don't mind sharing with students that are educational. Maybe something that is very blunt, or something that is more subtle to kick start the EMT mentality of looking deeper than what's on the surface. How about something that we can discuss after? These videos DO NOT need to be rated g. They can range from g and go all the way to nc17! Ok, kidding, R is the limit. That should do it. These students need some videos that will keep them motivated, interactive, and entertained, instead of the monotonous power points!
