Ya see what thinking positive can do? Keep it up.

I'm thinking about you down here in Sarasota and we (Red Cross) have lots of members all ready to head up there after the storm passes. Some of the toys you guys have seen pictured are getting geared up to take up there.

Keep us informed.

You guys are going to be such a welcome site Chimp. Along with the Salvation Army and FEMA.

Looks like we should be good on Power here. The guys in engineering said they brought in like 3 times as many generators than they had for Hur. Ivan so we should be set.

YEA!!!!

Positive thinking...Positive thinking...

Will you be headed this way Chimpie?

Nah, with just moving and getting all settled in, I can't afford to take a vacation yet. But we have SEVERAL of our best packing their bags getting ready to leave. They are leaving either tonrght or first thing in the morning. I know they had at least 40 people who wanted to go. I'm sure that number is climbing fast though.

How are you doing now?

Thats where mine, my moms, and my sisters houses are.

I am fine for right now. We have friends that live right around the corner from my sister and moms houses so they are going to get out and check them out as soon as the storm dies down and it is safe. We'll see after that.

But my kids are thinking like kids...they cannot wait for FEMA to get here with the MRE's, they LOVE THEM!!

How did you guys make out in Sarasota?

The barrier islands got hit hard. Lots of beach and road errosion. We are experiencing high tide now so we'll see what happens.

Other than a few reported tornadoes the mainland did fairly well.

Just think, by the weeks end we will be feeling the effects in Vermont. Granted, we will not see the high winds and it will be nothing like what you are going through, but we usually get dumped on with several inches of rain which can be a problem with so many gravel roads.

Glad to see you're still here (power that is) and by the way if the power does go out, did you bring those energizer multipaks? Just kidding. Trying to get a smile out of you.

Did it work?

Dan

  yea...

I just talked to my sisters best friend. They have lost a couple shingles and their privacy fence. Everyone around them has lost their privacy fence.

So....anybody here a fencer??? Comeon up. There is a boatload of work to do.

Well, the worst is past our area. Guess this means people will start to have their chest pains, breathing problems, abd pains again. That way they can come here where it is dry, cool, and have TV. OH..and its almost dinner time, so they will get to eat a hot meal too.

YEA!!!

Glad to hear that! :D

If only fences and a few shingles are lost then that is something to celebrate! You're a trooper with guts to be able to face a storm like that in it's direct path. I'm at a loss for words right now, but very glad to hear that you are still safe.

Ya see, positive thinking works! ;)

By the way, I built an almost 700 square foot addition on our house recently for my parents apartment so fencing and shingles, no problem.

Cool link.

Well it's around 10pm EST (Sunday) and it looks like Pensacola is starting to dry out.

Princess, be sure to give us a run down on how the area as a whole is doing.

OK..Check out The Pensacola News Journal

On the right side, near the top is Hurricane Dennis photos.

Check those out....The ones from Navarre are my town.

Wow Princess, some major flooding there. It'll be a rough couple of weeks cleaning up but I'm so glad to see you & the family are ok.

Glad to hear you made it through all that OK. :)

OK guys, its 2300 hrs and I have been up since 0200. I am off to find a dark corner of this hospital and go to bed.

We are gearing up for a LOOOOOOOOONNNNNG day tomorrow here in the ER.

Talk with you all later.

Good Night.

I am glad to see that all is well Princess. If there is anything that we as friends can do let us know! I am sure that everyone will be happy to help!
