Anyone out there either use or have experience with online scheduling software? Thinking about implementing some new scheduling practices and shopping around. So far have looked at WhenToWork, eCore, and Aladis (sp.)

Service is fairly small (30ish) but growing and we need a better way than pen and paper...lol

Any advice / input is greatly appreciated!

Best I've used is Webstaff. The other one I've used is ePro Netscheduler, which leaves much to be desired.

We're using FireManager, and it's pretty easy. They do not have it set up to track our time, though, so we still use paper timesheets.

Hubby's department uses WebStaff, and it's nice. I really like how it doles out OT. Calling the list is a very fair way to make sure a few people aren't sitting on the computer, waiting for a hole to appear.

Whentowork is the only one I am familiar with but I like it. It is pretty intuitive and has an okay interface. I really like the instant email notifications of open shifts, ability to take on open shifts on-line, etc.

And it exports into Google calendar which is awesome for me since I use GC extensively.

We use ePro, and I've always liked it...

We use telestaff at my FT job. It's user friendly. My per diem job uses whentowork. It's decent as well. It's easier to look at "everyone's schedule" either weekly or monthly, and see a good snapshot of who's working and when, and it's easy to follow.

Depending on what your needs are, my company just puts the schedule together in a PDF format and puts it in a password protected part of the website.

Nothing fancy, but works well enough for getting the schedule distributed.

ETA: We have one person basically pen and papering the schedule for around I'd say 200 employees company wide each week. YMMV.

So far the choices are Webstaff, NetScheduler, FireManager, whenTowork, Telestaff, and EMSManager.

Does anyone have rough estimates for cost? I know I looked at one of these and because I'm a cheapskate I refused to pay an annual $3k license fee. I wrote my own web based scheduler and we're using that because it's free, not because it's good!

I have used both WhenToWork and ePro. I like them both and are very easy to sign up for open shifts. As far as the management side of things and how easy they are to get set up, I couldn't tell you. I just have experience from the employee side.

Our paid staff uses telestaff. From what I hear, it is not the best.

We use epro. I dont mind it. Very restricted with what you can do with it though.

We use Schedule force, Seems like a well managed system, It only does scheduling though, would be nice to have it integrated with timekeeping as well

EMSmanager. Meh, it's alright.

ePro is nice, but it's expensive, at least when compared for Whentowork. my part time agency was debating between the two, and was learning towards ePro's all in one, until they learned the cost. then they switched to W2W.

I love whentowork, it's highly customizable, but it is only what it is; a scheduling program. it doesn't do payroll, it doesn't do incident reports, and submitting emails through it kinda sucks.

but I love it for scheduling, and recommend it over every home grown system and other archaic scheduling systems (paper and pencil, excel spreadsheets, or a calender program like google calender or outlook with staffing thrown in).

and for those volunteer EMS systems that need a scheduling solution, check out http://www.whentohelp.com

Anything that exports to google calendars has my vote..... Although we use epro and I like it.
