Hi. I'd like some advice as my Facility has no Training Officer. I work in "intake" at a detox facility in Massachusetts. I do the intake assessments and respond to any codes from PT's. I'd like to renew my cert but can't seem to do it without being affiliated. Any suggestions?....thanks for any advice

your Mass cert? contact OEMS and check out
your NREMT cert? contact NREMT

Thanks for answering :) I just completed all my CE and applied at NREMT. I believe my state won't recert unless I am affiliated with someone and the detox facility I work at has no training officer to check over my CE...i will have to call OEMS tomorrow and see what advice they can give...i went through this last recert as well and ended up begging an agency to let me affiliate.

Honestly, if you are staying active at all, your best bet is to find an agency to affiliate with, have them verify your skills and use them to do your annual skills review.
I don’t know what the situation is like in Massachusetts, but here in Pennsylvania almost any agency will take you on Per diem and allow you to affiliate for your national registry.

My problem is I LOVE where I work in detox and I make well over $30/hr....hard to beat as an EMT-B Hopefully I can figure something out

nothing wrong with that... but as @NomadicMedic said, the easiest way might be to find a job you can work at part time/per diem, a few days a month that you can work at in addition to the detox center. this brings in some extra money, allows you to affiliate with an agency with a training officer, and you can maintain your EMS skill proficiency on (in theory) critical calls.

Could you affiliate yourself with a ems education program? Maybe as a volunteer skills instructor and do it that way.

Reach out to New Hampshire CPR and see if they can help.

They provide an affiliation service for $10 a month that might meet NREMT requirements.

Some refresher education providers also offer a skills verification (that is separate from the class) that might fit your needs?

All good suggestions....will will look at all my choices....thanks for the ideas!
