Hello there,
I'm a fairly new EMT-B and a Paramedic student here in S.E. Michigan.I am also on the VFD in my little town. The ink on my EMT-B license is still wet, and yesterday I was both accepted on the FD AND hired by an ambulance company.
It has almost been like flipping a switch from one life to another. My medic class is 2 nights a week and I am working 2-3 14 hour shifts at the ambulance company. Then Mondays and in between drilling and runs for the VFD.
It took me 31 years to decide what I wanted to do with my life. I've done just about everything from Shoeing horses, repo'ing cars to parking and pushing out jumbo jets lol.
I'm loving all the insight and info I've found on the forum so far and I'm glad to be a member of the community.
