i was thinking of just dropping off a few resumes at some of the ambulance companies since most of them dont have the ability to apply online. if i just walk in and say hey i wanted to drop off my resume incase you had any openings would that work? ive never applied anywhere before because i was in the navy before

Most companies will have applications even if they aren't online, so simply ask for an application. Fill out an application and drop it off with a copy of applicable certs and a resume even if they don't ask for them upfront.

You will a far better chance of getting hired if you apply in person. Unless a company explicitly says that only online applications are accepted, go in person. As JP said, bring a resume and a copy of your certs and license (driver's and EMT) as well as a copy of your driving record.

Wear nice clothes (a tie) even when you go to apply, if you get lucky there might be someone around to interview you on the spot.

I honestly don't think they even acknowledge online apps most the time. They get so many that it's usually easier for the hard copies they have in front of them. At least those people put in the effort to get off their butt to show face. Hasn't worked for me yet though

thx guys i got your response right before i left so i didnt walk in there all clueless like an idiot ^_^

The company I just got hired with doesn't do in-person applications or phone calls, but it's still a good idea to go to the main station and ask for one. Bring a copy of your resumé and look semi-professional just in case you run into a supervisor.
