Hey guys.... I have an interview tomorrow at 11:00 for Rural/Metro. They run 911 for county and city here in central FL (orlando). They average 92,000 calls a year so I'm kinda pumped. I'm planning on wearing kahkis, a black button down, and black shoes. Sound good? Anything else you want to post that will MAKE me get this job, where i've wanted to work forever, please do! They run EMT/medic trucks either 12 or 24's...whatever you choice when you get hired. God Please.

Brandon...................................

Wear a light colored shirt, not a black one.
Wear a tie.
Bring your brag book.
Shine your shoes.
Shave and take any/all piercings out.
Get there 15 mins early. No more, no less.
Know the name of the person you're meeting with before you get there.
Gargle mouthwash right before you walk in.

Why do you say light colored shirt? I will because you said so. haha, i was just curious george why?

thanks

Black is a "dark" color, not very pleasant or neutral. Wearing a white button down shirt with multi-colored tie will make you seem more pleasant.

Chimp is right it is said never to wear black to an interview because it can be seen as intimidating. Also, prepare some answers for the generic questions before you go and practice saying them, avoid stuttering or rambling. They really don't like that.

Oh and along with piercings, cover any tattoos you have if any.

I GOT IT!

Thanks guys. The feeling of finally having a job..........priceless. I picked 12's for now. I'm not sure how the schedule is going to work and all that jazz. I do however have to wail until the 13th of Sept. for the "academy" (orientation). Then I guess a few shifts with an FTO, then I get a medic partner probably the last week of Sept.

And I'm getting paid A LOT more then I thought I would. :)

Not a bad deal. :P

I'm the happiest guy around!
