Lol research research research!Umm...what orange county protocols......?
Remember, you can only use pulse ox if the fire medic says it's ok, watches you use it, and holds your hand.
If you violate this protocol you could be sent off to the EMT Gulag.

gurney protocol most important. having a clean made gurney is half your worries. and comfortable boots to stand in![]()
Unashamed plug for Glendale AO, IMO the single best single role EMT job in the county, paid more than some private medics and our FFPMs expect us to be fully involved hands on, not just standing by the gurney, we're doing pretty much all the splinting and bandaging on traumas, we're fully involved on chest compressions and BVM's on arrests, medics are starting a line to give fluids and I have my hands free, guess who's striping the bag? It sure ain't the cop!I don't mean any offense to the crews who work 911, but as a new EMT looking for a gig it would benefit you to go outside LA/OC if you really want to gain experience in the field.
Sure you will run with fire crews that will allow you to be more hands on, but the majority of what you do is just gurney pushing.
Full arrest in the park. Even the cop is holding the NS bag. Care is just standing around waiting to move the patient.

Head out to Riverside, San Bernardino, or Kern and get some 1-1 experience with a medic.
