Hi, thanks for reading this.

I am 43, been in emergency services for 23 years, 21 of which as a practicing paramedic everywhere from rural Texas to urban Texas with the last 16 years being in the fire service. Finally eligible to retire and I am reaching a crossroad in life and considering changing my career path. I've by no means seen or done it all and its starting to frustrate me that I can't even locate a decent ingress into this career field. Do any of you have any pointers? I was hoping to stay in the Gulf of Mexico based out of South Texas or Louisiana. I'm smart (although I can't prove it on paper) and willing to obtain the required certifications or licenses.

Doesn't Acadian contract a fair amount of that? Might be a good start point.

Offshore medic industry is in a bit of a slump at the moment, at least globally - I'm not sure about the status in US waters.
Some of the big offshore agencies are tending to recruit from countries that expect a lower financial reward. As such those places that are available are taken up by medics from countries with lower income expectations
