My personal advice? Get over this phobia ASAP, or find another line of work/ career. The fire department very much deals with the same communicable diseases as us (this somehow seems redundant).

Also, a little more food for thought:

You ever wonder how much crap they inhale when fighting fires the other 5-15% of the time they aren't in, and around othee communicable diseases?

Probably brushing up on infectious disease and droplet particles would help too.

Theoretically, if the hospital confirmed that he did have active TB, they would/should have notified you of this.

Yea then i wouldnt be in this mess. very upset i didnt put a mask on
I would venture to say because you wouldnt worry about every known thing that could get you sick. You do realize there area many causes of hemoptysis besides tb right?

I had the flu a couple of weeks ago and a couple of times I had blood come out in my phlegm. Do I have TB? No... well at least I hope not. The weight loss and night sweats are nothing concerning I think.

I didn't see the likes. ;) it's nice to be validated.

#popular crew.

In all honesty he has a better chance of getting Lupus than TB.
