Don't understand what you are disappointed about. Is it the fact that he is using a cliche or what? Especialy because he is a basic himself, it's his perogative to think of himself and his role however he wishes to do so.

Because it's the most over used cliche in EMS? Because it perpetuates the "white patch mafia" mentality? Because it's not true?

Here's a better version:

"Paramedics occasionally make a difference, but EMTs drive the truck"

I just don't care anymore. The whole cast of that show is too inept to tech in my arrogant opinion.

Not only is it an awful cliche, it's just dumb. That's not what an EMT's role is, period.
