Can EMTs/Paramedics in FDNY EMS have beards???

FDNY EMS allows beards, but you must soak them in bleach for 5 minutes after every patient contact, and they also require beardies (it's a NYC specific term) to volunteer and buff calls, just to help out the FNDY call volume.
After testing out the bleach-decon, you should be able to reach them at 800-222-1222.

Instead of a modicum of effort to Google your question, you apparently expect someone else to do the grunt work for you. Yeah...don't be surprised to get snarky responses.
 
There actually is an office at FDNY that answers questions like this from prospective employees. You can call during normal business hours on weekdays. 212-479-7990.

I was actually insulted and he apparently missed my sincere effort as it was peppered with sarcasm/frustration. When people take time to reply to any question of mine in earnest, no matter how it is presented, I respect that.

I read his original post. I then used my time to research his post. I then posted a link and commented as I felt the link (though dated) had very relevant information within and might spurn more conversation.

If you do not value my time, then I will no longer value yours...

So wait, let me get this straight. You got the best help someone could give you (Not everyone is FDNY here you know) to at least offer some PERSPECTIVE on the issue and some direction....and you want to call him a douche?o_O

How about you quit being lazy and take the time to Google it first or as you realized now you should have do, pick up the damn phone ask the department of interest. Don't blame others for you not being willing to accept what you are given and not being willing to look it up yourself. Sounds like a personal problem.
