Hello all!
I recently got hired as an EMT in northern California... I finished my EMT course back in December and am just now starting work as an EMT.. I was hoping I could get some words of advice from anyone who would like to chime in about any pointers or "no-nos" for a new EMT.
Thanks bunches!

Don't do it!!! Haha

Pay attention, be willing to learn, and if you have to drive for the EMT job, drive safely.

What Desert said.

However, don't just be willing. Actively show that you WANT to learn. Ask for criticism. Ask for suggestions. And most importantly, ask if you can pay for coffee.

Ok, maybe not that last one. But the other parts definitely! :)

Don't be a tool.

Seriously. Just think things through and you'll be fine. There are far two many "what-ifs" so when it doubt, fall back on critical thinking skills.

I thought the proper quote was, "don't be a tool bag".

New Englanders are known to shorten things unnecessarily.

I've never heard that. I've heard "don't be a tool" and "don't be a ____ bag". The _____ is something I'm not gonna say on the forum.

"Don't be a tool bag" has been kind of a running joke here for a while. I think Robb might have started it.
