    I think everyone is getting to advanced! go back some years, in many cases, a long tome ago and have a instructor,admin confrence. hell whats the worse that could happen? the problem is in the open and if he/she cant deal with it, they do not need to be in a position to teach.

    The only thing a portable O2sat meter is a good stretcher wheel chauk. treat the problem not the equipment. remember back you your basic skills, the time you have the pt a little O2 will not kill the pt. when in doubt O2 out

    I agree with you very little, mabee the EMT-b's have a very low call volume and cannot pratice all the time. Or the pts that they do run have bounding pulses, normal bps. they need practice with thready pulses and no palp bp. the way i set up stuff for my cc medics is practice pratice and more...

    Great Idea. I agree that repete skills are critical to newcommers into the busniess. I would add another senerio into the mix, ie: taking vitals on a critical pt and have the pt have a onset of another problem. Kudos to you for doing what should be done

    If you are in the Upstate SC you can go to GMH as a Nurse Special tech. It requires a EMT-B atleast, and you can work there and keep your EMTI through DHEC. If you can, reply personally and I can see what I can Help you with in SC

    Nitro before IV

    Amen to Ridryer911. I also strongly believe that a 12lead and a line should be started. Knowledge of a right side vs left side is uber critical! For any BLS unit dispatched to a cp should wait until ALS arrives before giving nitro.

    Yes it is not uncommon for a clogged colonostmy bag to overfill. And yes the pt do vomit their own fecal material, smell, and chuncks and all. VERY DISTURBING
