Poor pay, cold weather.. I slightly exaggerate, we are just over a year old so only a little, we are primarily a fixed wing ALS medevac service, We are currently looking for Two RN's to join us here in Anchorage for flight duties, we also are looking for several EMT's for ground Ambulance...

    Veteren EMT support act.

So alas, I am not aware of goat lab, I had my emt going in and took the combat life saver deal, but medic was not my thing, I don't recall the fmf in my unit mentioning a goat lab so perhaps it was before his time, or he thought we would give him crap about it, not certain, though the next time...

    Veteren EMT support act.

Interesting, still not certain I see the point in a new federal law over it, but I do see your point, I never really thought my expectations on licensing were different then others, so thanks for that.

How to buff calls in NYC?

Don't have enough free time to read all of this but my thoughts from what I have is that the idea of "buffing" is that it would add a lot of unknowns into the equation. I typically love all the help that I can get to show up, for the most part, but I am not certain that I would be comfortable...

    Veteren EMT support act.

The two states I have worked in for medic you show up with registry, proof you went to an accredited school. They run a background check, call any state you have been licensed in before and you hand them a check they hand you a license. Same day service if you do it in person, perhaps different...

    Veteren EMT support act.

So reading this act I don't seem to understand what the point is. Admittedly my service was Corp and had nothing to do with medic, but my understanding is that now medics all take registry anyhow so what is it that this is supposed to do?

    Ambulance Drivers

I don't have any particular grudge with volunteer EMS, years ago before I decided that I hated being poor I would even give a little of my time in such an endeavor, what kills me here is two fold one we get plenty of licensed experienced EMT applicants but alas we hire almost exclusively...

What is your opinion of pain management?

Paramedic, ALS service, and our only option for pain meds is the whirly bird.

What is your opinion of pain management?

Much to my sorrow while our state allows pain control by several means it does not require it, so alas we do not carry it. It's quite nice when we average 60 mile 911 transports.. ma'am bite down on the leather strap and curse if you feel the need..

    Ambulance Drivers

I did not even know it was still a thing in my state, had not seen one in years, but here I sit at a service that does not seem to hire EMT's, we have paramedic and driver or AEMT and driver and that's it, And this is not IFT or Volunteer this is straight up single provider 911.

    Ambulance Drivers

    Inter-facility Considerations Nausea and Vomiting

We can, Sometimes we even do. Oddly this year they put benadryl in our nausea vomiting protocol as in with, our instead of zofran. I have actually tried it a few times and had good results.

I'm interested in being an EMT-B, but not sure if it's right for me...

As to the Job; I know a number of people who used EMS as a stepping stone to MD, of course those are some of my favorite ER Docs, as to the hours, well it all depends on the company, as people above said some do require full time before you can be part time, and very few allow a "Part Time"...

    The New Old.

As to angel's point of why go through Paramedic School if I was already bored, couple of reasons, one its about 25,000 dollars more a year where I work, which is kind of nice, two being that after 10 years you have to move up or find someway out, I have tried getting out, over the years I have...

    The New Old.

I tend to agree with you, my current position does not really allow for anything new or challenging as to people that have been there longer, they don't exist, as to people that are higher well lets say that the notion of me being motivated would intimidate them in a way I do not believe that...

    The New Old.

So I have been in EMS for about 10 years now, most of which time I have tried to escape, Something to the effect of 7 as an EMT, 3 as an AEMT, and now a month as a Paramedic. I figured sense I could not escape I might as well as embrace the madness. I find myself feeling strangely, All my former...
