Anyone know of shops that will calibrate a Philips Heartstart MRX in the LA area. I took one to Alamo Medical and they screwed it up royally. The only other option so far is to ship it to Philips on the east coast which is a bit pricey. Thanks for any leads!
IFT isn't all bad. Depends on the company. Since you are probably at f***tmed, you will encounter a lot of difficulty. Keep in the books, treat your patients, and try to avoid getting jaded toooooo quickly.

Take your brain and note taking material. Get out of the shorts and t-shirt habit. Realize that you know nothing.....and never will. There is always more to medicine than you know. Think your good? Talk to an RN, MD, PA, DO, Paramedic, etc....

drug induced lupus erythematosus: may have acute onset, S/S include muscle rigidity, erratic HR, fluctuating BP, fever (hmm...), pericardial effusion, as well as joint stiffness. Dunno about the fever though, as this guy was hypothermic...
I am really curious to hear the diagnosis if possible. Had a colleague suggest beta-blocker OD, but that does not match the HTN, then tried out CVA resulting from cocaine OD, which does not account for the airway comromise. Stumped on this one, besides a diagnosis of "really jacked up".
These changes are WAY overdue. If anyone believes that the City of Los Angeles (DOT) provided any sort of medical oversight whatsoever, then they should be smacked.

When I'm hitting that point, I slow down and consider why I am doing what I'm doing and if, in the long run, it matters THAT much (as in, "am I the only one that could do this job?" etc). If the answer is no, then I force myself to go home, not answer the phone, etc.
