It's actually a very time consuming and annoying process when you say yes to that. Saying no is easier. I Don't have anything to hide, I just have no Interest in being part of a fishing expedition.
Stroke. Yesterday it was a hemorrhagic stroke. Day before was a foot vs lawnmower with amputated great toe..........looks like that new medic black cloud has caught me.
Had a DOA, a crazy vent run, and a code save today. I feel like a real paramedic.
Also had to extricate a 10 y/o from a bicycle, but that was my partners run.
Ive had that call before. No point in transporting when it can be fixed.
In other news, yesterday was cardiac arrest in a grocery store. One shock PTA. 14 shocks by us. 8 more at the hospital. Finally called it after 3 hours from first responder cpr.
Monday was 30% full thickness burns...
Two TIA's today. Watches a guy have a TIA in front of me. Fasciculation in the left temple followed by droop and flaccid on the left side and garbled speech. Back to normal 7 minutes later. Kind of cool to see.
Testing for the county just north of me for a PT gig in the morning, along with 3 other medics. Our protocols are pretty good, but they have levophed, nitro drips, TXA.......all the goodies we don't have. Rumor is they plan to hire all of us assuming we don't blow it.
Just wear a belt that will work as a tourniquet. Problem solved. Then you dont have to carry a kit around for the 0.2% chance you have at being involved in an active shooter situation.
