    Frisbee NH EMS

If you have never been to Rochester, NH the town has great access to the mountains and the ocean. Cost of living isn't too high either. Being from NH I don't know if I would want to make my home in Rochester but it's not a terrible place to live.

    Drugs to know

I love micromedx it's cheap like $1.99 and so far it has every drug I've wanted to look up. The drugs people have listed are good to start with.

    Ambulance Ride Alongs!

That's crazy no calls in that amount of time. I had a 12 last week and only had three calls but as a company we are at almost 25k since January 1...yesterday I averaged about 1 call an hour.

    Hospital based EMS.

Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA has medics. They respond in SUV's and Trinity EMS does the transport with the LGH medic if needed.

Negligent Motor Operation << impossible to get hired?

You could still be hired but the company won't certify you as a driver so you'd always work with someone who is certified by the company/insurance to drive.

    Fire Dept. Interview(ish)

Interview went very well, probably won't be the best fit as they are primarily a call dept. and I live just over 10 minutes away. Thanks everyone for the tips!

    Fire Dept. Interview(ish)

Interview is this evening. I am hoping for good things! I do currently have a gig with a private so this is a bonus. I'll put my best foot forward and all that but the pressure is off which is nice.

    Fire Dept. Interview(ish)

It is a paid dept. but like I mentioned small town less than 6,000 people. I think full suit will be the way to go.

    Fire Dept. Interview(ish)

Hey All, I got a letter from a small local dept. after sending my resume/credentials, etc. The letter requests for me to meet with the chief at 7:00pm next week. Question is, what attire is proper? I have a full time job in finance so I know how to dress business professional. For one private...

    Your experience using bystanders

A few months back I wasn't working but was the 3rd or so person to stop at an accident on the highway where an 18 year old was ejected and bounced his head off the pavement. People looked like they were trying to help so I asked (and prayed) someone was a EMT/nurse/MD, etc. No one was. The...

    How long for MA reciprocity?

The honest answer is: anyone's guess. I had a guy in my orientation class two weeks ago and sent in his application the beginning of Jan. and didn't have it. He actually went to OEMS and picked it up. I sent mine in two weeks ago as well and sent an email yesterday asking to come get it and I...

    Nurse Practitioner in ED's

She currently is a FNP working on her doctorate. What really interests her are trauma's, codes and the ever changing ER case load. (I suppose that interests most of us). Before she left her last hospital as an RN she was working on being a part of the code team. I think what would make her...

    Nurse Practitioner in ED's

Hey All, My lovely wife has been a NP in a family setting for about 5 years previously she was a RN in an acute care setting. Her current practice is very busy and her case load is quite complex. She is feeling a bit bored and my venture into EMS has reignited her interest in emergency...

This is me. I'm trying to get over it. Nothing else bothers me. I guess we all have our limits.
