So who is quitting EMS and going to work at Target for the guaranteed pay raise?

Are you tired of the long hours, low wages, lack of respect, and constant overwork? Then maybe working at Target will fix 2 out of 4 of those issues!!!

I was thinking exactly the same thing today. People stocking FlufferNutter and Snickers bars are getting paid more than front line medical workers in the middle of a pandemic.

Good for them, but it speaks volumes about our society today.

And to think when I worked there I made 8.25

I am making the most I've ever made at 12.64 plus OT and bonuses.

But literally anyone at buc-ees (giant beaver themed gas station for y'all noon Texas folks) makes a higher base pay than me.

Abysmally low pay has always been the norm in EMS and Target has always been a relatively progressive employer.

I always hoped to see a widespread movement for pay increases in EMS. If ever, now is the time.

They are also massively anti union. Their new hire video about unions nearly breaks some laws.

I was thinking Walmart. It's massive and everyone knows them. You hate having to work there but sometimes it's the only place that will hire ya.

If only we could figure out why Target can afford to pay $15 an hour but EMS can't.

/sarcasm

The answer is political.

I mean, I'm hiring at $15 an hour. :D

I know a few people working there. Not a bad gig.

In terms of Texas, that is not Texas. Alas.
