Alright, I am just curious what the political position of people in EMS are.

So that this thread does not get closed, please ONLY VOTE. The only reason to post in this thread is to say an affiliation (or suggest an affiliation) not in the poll. I do not want this thread to become a "Democrat vs. Republican" thread, or a political pissing match. I basically just want it to be a poll.

I'm in the middle.

By the way, this will get locked. I just want to be the first to say it

"I don't have a political affiliation"

Most people aren't affiliated with are party per say, but can say that their ideas are in line with their own.
Kinda two different things. Probably with skew results.

I am affiliated with a set of beliefs not represented by Republican or Democrat. However I am an independant atheist, skeptic, captialist, pro choice right winger who thinks government should have nothing to with marriage, straight or gay.

I hope not. I knew there was a good possibility when I put it up, but hopefully they will let it remain. It does, after all, have to do with EMS.

Political preferences have nothing to do with EMS...until election years. That is why during the presidential election, we allowed ONE thread to discuss politics as they pertained to EMS.

However, I see no problem with this thread remaining open (for now) provided people vote on the pole and don't discuss their beliefs in the comments. The moment this turns into a political discussion, this thread will go the way of the Dodo.

Thanks.

I actually think it does have something to do with EMS, as it gives an idea of who is in it. For example, I know LE personnel are usually conservative Republicans. I want to figure out what it is for EMS.

I realize it is a bit of a stretch <_<

I'm a non-moronitarian, i.e. not a fan of the people in the government for about as long as I've been born

I think you find more independents and libertarians in EMS than society on average.

And many folks that have libertarian ideals... even if that isn't their current party.

I'm an anarchist! :P

jk.

I will be registering as a Democrat in 19 days (and I almost always support Democratic candidates), but I am center line on certain issues.

So.. where does the "right wing" part come in to play with all of that? :P

Conservative Republican, all the way.

/me tries to figure out the difference between a "liberal" libertarian and a "conservative" libertarian.

Well, a lot of the threads in the lounge aren't EMS related. If you're going to lock political threads because someone might get their panties in a twist, shouldn't you lock threads like "ZOMG what car do you drive?" or "Hey dudes, should I go see Wicket?"

Either the lounge is an off topic location or it isn't. Threads shouldn't get locked just because a few people are immature and get pissy because someone has a different opinion then they do.

That's exactly what leads to threads getting locked.

So, having a different opinion is bad? Must resist the borg. Ummm, borg. Join the borg!

Hehe that's more what I meant to say
