I have a few questions that I really hope some of you can answer. I recently got hired through a private ambulance company. For the hiring process I successfully passed all scenarios and did the interview with high regards and praise. I am starting orientation in a couple weeks, than after that proceeding to my internship. Here's my problem. About a 2 years ago I was "ticketed" for a DUI. I am truly fighting the case as of now, but I have NOT been convicted. My driving record is completely clean. No demerit points, no conviction, EXCEPT it shows that my license was revoked (for the DUI ticket) and than reinstated.
Now my question is: 1. Will the insurance company that insures ambulance drivers still insure me even though I have NOT been convicted. Like I said, as of now, on my driving record it ONLY shows a revoked license.
Like I said, the company wants to hire me, but the main concern is: How do the insurance companies decide whether an EMT is insurable. Is it convictions, demerits, etc. I actually have an attorney that is in the process of getting this whole case thrown out because of the circumstances (long story). So if anyone can please give me any or all the info regarding this it would be much appreciated. Thank you much for your time.
