Hey all,

Just went through the EMT-B course here in central Wisconsin; and am waiting on the results of my written test. I think I passed the written; it seemed easy enough....

But anyway, just thought I'd introduce myself to ya! I'm Sara, a 19 year old female from Wisconsin Rapids. I'm hoping to get on with one of the local ambulance services, and if they won't accept me (for insurance reasons, I had one place turn me down cause i'm not 23) I might try to find an ER job somewhere close.

Hobbies include reading, writing, horseback riding, and chilling with friends. I'm *always* online, so I guess 'computers' should be in that list too... hehe. Um... if you want to know anything about me, just ask!

later,

Sara

:) :) :) Welcome Sara!!! :) :) :)

Good luck on your results I can't tell you how excited we all get waiting for results...we're hanging in there with ya.

Welcome Sarah!

I'm Matt, just celebrated my 23 birthday a not too long ago, and teach middle school Language Arts.

Around here it really depends on what agency you work for. Some privates will hire under 21, others won't.

Good luck, and I hope you stick around and post!

Welcome to EMTLife Sara.

Well... you all seem crazy enough... of course I'll stick around! :D

Happy late birthday then, MMiz.

I've got a guaranteed place with the first responder group up at my mom's, but it's all volunteer. I've been with them since before February; though haven't been able to do anything. I was around when they first got their license last month, I believe; and will mean a lot to all of us for me to finally get on and do something! We've been through everything already; our first call was during one of our meetings. A 10-79. One of the guys who went said (the victim) had been there "a while." We've been through a firefighter funeral as well.

So yeah, it will be great to be able to actually be a member of the group.

-rambling about nothing-

thanks. :P

I'll add my welcome to the site as well... there's a lot of great folks here, good conversation, and someone is always willing to answer a question or help you out.

Welcome to EMTLife - we put the Fun in Dysfunction!

As for getting hired... you might get on somewhere as a "non-driver" - that is what I did for my first EMS job.

Yeah - Sara wouldn't do well behind the wheel of an extremely large vehicle. I have trouble with my dad's Chevy Z71... an ambulance? HA! That's a joke...

But yeah; it's all good.
