I'm looking for a new knife to carry. I work for a predominately rural service that has basic extrication capability. I'd like something that has a tanto blade that's partially serated as well as a glass breaker. I did a quick search but couldn't find anything. Any suggestions?

I use Appalachian trail knives. Few military buddies of mine use- smith and wesson or gerber(hinderer).

I carry a Gerber Hinderer. Good blunt rescue knife. I use it to pry stuff mostly. Also handy for turning on oxygen bottles and occasionally cutting something. (Usually an eBay package)

The only tanto style blades that have a glass breaker that I have seen are cheap generic knifes that are not known for quality.

There are tons of serrated blades (usually drop point) with glass breakers from the well known usually better quality life manufacturers.

If you have the money I'm a fan of Benchmade knives. Granted I'm not one for ricky rescue knives and tanto blades are stupid (my own opinion). I know benchmade makes rescue knives I believe they have the knife blade, glass breaker, and seatbelt cutter. Plus for all you rescue knife fans it comes in blaze orange to make it the leatherman raptor of knives.

Your mileage may vary, standard disclaimers apply, I do not endorse or even know any of those ebay sellers, etc. Blah blah blah, lawyers suck.

*cough cough* Benchmade Osborne 940...

I couldn't tell you what a tanto blade is, but I really like my Gerber Hinderer CLS knife. I mostly use it for flipping open and closed when I'm bored. However, it has a nice cutting hook that *does* cut clothes (I've only used it once for this - one was a cardiac arrest and I forgot shears, because I am dumb.).

I just use a 10lb sledgehammer for all my needs.
