Does anyone know anything about Hawaii EMS? Ive heard that AMR runs 911 on the smaller islands and that the big island is run by FD. Is that still true or have there been changes recently? Also, what is expected from medics from the mainland and is pay enough to live there?

I used to work in your county. Get my number from one of your co workers. Has to be a former AMR employee though. Ask about the guy who went to Hawaii. I could fill you in here but this is more fun.

Ready, set, wild goose chase!

I like your style lol

Also, because I feel I should be helpful. Try messaging Firetender.

I like this question. "working" in hawaii....doesn't sound half bad.....

I've been told there is a waiting list to transfer to AMR. Could be true, or my supervisor kust wants the job so he lied

I've also heard that. During orientation one of the higher ups (above a ops manager) said that he only knows one person who has actually been able to transfer there from my area.

Was that person transferring as a medic or EMT?

Either way, I have heard that Hawaii has its own learning curve and that things are expensive there. But cost of living isnt that important as long as the pay is enough to cover it, Im okay with that. Not trying to get rich, just enough to live.
