What did everyone do before you worked in EMS? Just curious to know ..

I worked as a lifeguard at the local YMCA. After that I was a research lab assistant in one of my college science labs. Following that I was a TA for another college lab, then I was a part time volunteer EMT, and then I was a full time paramedic.

Retail and worked with race horses some.

Dog walker, babysitter, mowed lawns, sweeper at Amusement Park (vomit patrol/trash pickup), promoted to Ride Operator :).., bag boy at grocery store, "page" at city Library (put books back on shelf), and gas station attendant....all before or just as I turned 18...then I got hired by the county EMS once I had EMT card in hand.

Shoveled snow, cut grass, raked leaves and delivered newspapers as a kid.

As a teenager I bailed hay and did farm work and briefly worked at a Burger King.

Joined the military right out of high school, and went to paramedic school as soon as I got out.

I caddied for six years or so, and then started working at a garden center/power equipment dealership. After EMT class I got hired as a student trainer for my college's hockey program, and then started working on a private ambulance in Boston the following summer.

I worked at Wingstop for two years prior to getting my first EMT job. I still eat there. :)

Landscape foreman and professional dog trainer. Took me 5 years of this to realize my bachelor degree wasn't doing anything for me.

First real job was steward at a golf club for a year. As well, worked contracts throughout high school as an athletic training student. Went to EMT school the summer before undergrad. Did IFT my first spring semester then got on at an ED. Middle of undergrad for AT now.

Starbucks, nanny, server, and I mystery shopped full time for a year in Vegas which was pretty sweet.

Exactly and since I work ift I don't have to worry about being robbed beaten or killed. I miss some of the funny drunks though
