Hello fellow EMTS has anyone ever been turned down from a position due to your driving record? I have one speeding ticket 15 to 19 over the limit and it will go off next year around this time. I was just wondering after evoc and having all my training and after seven years on the rescue squad and five years as an EMT will my driving record affect my chances of getting hired?

It happens pretty often. Companies usually base the decision simply whether their insurance carrier will accept you. I know that my service has a rule allowing no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years.

Municipal agencies which are self-insured may be more accommodating.
