Dispatch Health only hires EMTs in our area and uses them in a medical assistant type role. They do vitals and IV/blood draws for the most part and also scribe for the provider. Note that EMTs already start IVs in Colorado so this isn’t too wild.

I did PRN with them for about 8 months in Denver. It's a decent gig, especially for a newer EMT. Would definitely reccomend over an IFT gig. You're partnered with a PA or NP on 10 hour shifts. You definitely get to see a wide variety of patients, sick and not sick. Good chance to really practice with your blood pressures, vitals and paying attention to the provider's assessment.
