alright i have a test tomorrow at an ambulance company and then an interview at a different ambulance/event medical company. (This is going to be my first ever interview for an actual job). the part that i am confused about is on the interview. i was told to arrive 15-20 mins early for the interview to fill out paperwork. i have already turned in my application with all my info on it. so im confused as to what paperwork i need to fill out before the interview. any ideas?

If they're hurting for people, the interview may be more of a formality.

If you haven't tested at that service yet, it may be a quick EMT test.

Could be a release of information for drug testing, W2, things like that.

thats what i thought at first. but it would make more sence to go over all that after the interview. but it could be W2 etc.

i honestly dont know if they are hurting for people. they say they are currently not hiring but that doesnt mean much.

If it's an EMT job, it could be a liability release form of some kind, so if they don't hire you you can't sue them for something.

I'd say written test of some kind.

It is customary to show up 15-20 min early to any interview. They always tell you to show up early regardless of paperwork.

It could just be another application. I had two interviews in the past two weeks to which I completed the application beforehand, and still had to fill out a hard copy in person.

The paperwork could be an EMT test they use to screen applicants, it could be pre-hire paperwork to allow them to do a background check, it could be paperwork that they'll use to hire you from, such as INS forms, W4's, and the like, in the event that they extend an offer of employment to you after the interview. I've seen all of those processes in use.

The most important thing is to arrive early. Early = on time. On Time = late/waste of their time. You want to be in a position to wait for them, not the other way around.

alright thanks guys/gals. i always arrive 1 hour early to tests or interviews or anything. thats just how my family is, always really early. and yes they must be hurting for EMTs. i filled out the app the beginning of January and got the call a couple of days ago. my friend filled out the same application yesterday and got a call today to set up an interview for tomorrow (the same day as mine. just later on in the day).

thanks for the info everyone. i got offered one job but it was too far away and i would actually lose money (which i dont have) so i had to turn it down. but i just got hired at Symons event services. part time but hey its experience. and they have employees from all parts of the medical field from EMT's to Flight medics and Doctors.
