Does anyone know if ambulance operators in Michigan need to have a Michigan chauffeur's license or CDL? Can the operator have an out of state driver's license?

I don't know of any service that requires anything beyond a driver's license.
I would it would depend on the service and their insurer as to whether they require an in state license.

A company I worked for in the Metro Detroit area required it, in fact I believe my last did as well. Have had chauffeur now for 22 years. All it took was a small test at the SOS and it renews with my reg. license ev 4 years

I have my chauffeurs licensed as well as enhanced. I had one company ask for the chauffeurs. Companies like you having the enhanced, in case you take a transport to Canada.
