Hi i have two quick questions. What do i have to do in order to transfer my EMT-B cards from California to Georgia as well as are there any prequisites needed once i transfer over my cards to go straight into medic school in georgia. THank you

Get your AEMT before you move. Georgia hardly uses basics. You'll have a very hard time finding a job as a basic when the area is full of I'85 and AEMTs. Also, most medic schools wouldn't really know what to do with a basic. With having to teach you up to the AEMT then medic level, plus it would put you behind the "curve" of everyone else.

Uh...medic school is designed for EMTs to learn to be paramedics. Everything in the I class is in the medic class.

I do agree that AEMT/EMT-I gives you a leg up when it comes to skills. That's where the advantage stops though.

I understand, but this is also an area where most people dont know basics even exist.

We only use EMT-I and above on the ambulance. It's not something new to me. Most special events have at least an ILS crew as well.

Sorry not trying to be a ****. You'd be hard pressed to find an AEMT class in CA except for a few counties. Now if they crossed into NV it's easy to find one.

Most services in GA hire AEMT only. Though EMTB is somewhat of a prerequisite for testing at the A level. Would probably advise you to sign up for an A class if you want gainful employment in GA. The state accepts registry for reciprocity. Feel free to PM for area-specific info.
