When I got to my current dept, they were using horribly laid out stat pack backpacks..

One of my first changes was to dump them lol

I also dumped them.

Possibly but he hasn't provided any details other than what he wants to stock in his bag, and even those leave open some questions. Who carries a box of gloves in any kit?

Still not a reason to carry a box of them in your kit. A handful, sure, but not a box

I know myself, and they will get lost if I just have a handful of them, but I won't lose a full box of them.

that's fair... personally, I would take a handful out, put them in a ziplock bag, and keep the box at home. no need to take the whole box with you.... and if you go though more than 20 pairs of gloves in a day, than you are doing something wrong. but you do whatever you feel is best for your situation.

that is a good idea. I will probably do something like that.
