So.. anyone who is involved in the running of a current AHA Training Inst. - I need a favor - PM me... Please!

Thanks,

Jon

I'm an AHA instructor but I don't run anything...

Didn't wanna help you anyway :P

I can't stand the AHA BS. I'm an AHA instructor, but intend to go through the red cross this summer.

The service I work for stopped being an AHA training center back in March. Sorry I can't help.

Really? I haven't noticed any but I only teach at community events or if a group needs it from school, etc I do private classes at one of my stations. Maybe I just haven't been exposed enough.

I am opposite, I can't stand ARC or any of their associated programs. Even though they obtain all their information from AHA ECC. As well there are very few medical institutions that will accept ARC certification as final. Most hospitals will accept it initially, then require AHA within a year.

I am not a big fan of AHA since the dilution of their programs and apparent new theories of increasing revenues for education program(s). AHA has lost most of their creditability and continues to go downward.

I have maintained my instructor ratings for all levels( BLS, NRP, PALS, ACLS) to maintain my service education requirements and to occasionally teach them at health care settings.

It is a shame, that emergency medicine does not have a qualified program to ensure accreditation of emergency providers.

Here, Here... I agree with you 110% Rid.... (as usual). I've been an AHA Instructor for a Bazillion years (ok, more like 18), I've seen a TON of changes within that time, some for the good, and some not so good. It seems that within the past 4-5 years that the AHA has been on a downward spiral. We've stopped encouraging people to doing their best, and dumbed down (or watered down) the courses... so instead of expecting folks to meet stringent guidelines, now we're performing skills at the "old" layperson level, because no one wants to learn the most effective techniques... that's too bad if you ask me.... and you're right, almost every other program takes the research and information from the AHA, and weaves their name around it.... I'm concerned about the level of education that our future Medical Professionals are getting at this point.... ah well.... just my 2 cents.

Oh, and by the way Jon... I am a former TC Coordinator (within the last year).. if you need any assistance please feel free to PM me.

Nevermind, everyone...

I needed the form to swap TC's... but I found it cleaning up my room on Saturday :)
