One time while we had the cab tilted on our Engine, I had my Yeti 30oz tumbler sitting on the side running board, apparently just a little too close to the edge, as when I lowered the cab, it caught the edge, and well, the hydraulics won that battle rather decisively....

BTDT. When I was a Program Director at a private college, used to bring my pup to work. She stayed in my office during classes. She said hi to everybody. Students loved her.

My Ed Director was an ***. It was confirmed to me one day when he suddenly appeared at my office door and my pup went into Protection mode. Bark and growl. He made a weak joke, I told him she’s an astute judge of character.

I got fired a month later… worth it.

Best Effing Dog EVER.

According to our EMS Dept, they ran just over 9400 calls with 5300 transports for January.

With 23 ambulances, thats like 13-14 calls a day for each unit based on my napkin math

I wonder how many pt. contact they make? If you get started then cancelled in a few minutes it's pretty easy to get a high call volume.

That's sounds like pain and suffering tbh, probably doable if they pull 12s though
 
When you're doing the mandatory Vector Solutions online training modules and you recognize one of your agencies ambulances in the slide lol
 
All of the old VFIS EVDT stuff used our vehicles. It was all filmed here in Central Pennsylvania.
 
News: Captures a "cool guy" pic of our crew in full gear walking out of the 3 alarm house fire the other day

Also the News: Captures the "not so cool guy" pic of my hair cowlicking all over the place after getting said gear (mask and helmet off)
 
Sure beats a famous B&W photo of a Honey Bucket man walking around the corner of a house after clearing the clog eating a sandwich…

He chased the photographer for seven blocks threatening to murderlate him and stick his body in the sewer.

Friggin hilarious.
 
That awkward moment when you're chilling in your apartment, and get the Pulse Point "CPR Needed!" Alert.... at the hospital a block or two away...

I sure hope their Code Blue plan isn't for someone to drive down, find some parking, figure where Ste 6xx is, just to get to Pt side....

We're getting new AEDs. Switching from our older Philips Heartstart FR3 to Physio Lifepak CR2.

I guess Philips is transitioning support away to the newer FRX, which our Medical Director thinks is "too basic", and the Physio is sold as being able to plug and play with our EMS' LP monitors and Lucas devices (buuuut apparently the "public mode" audio instructions cannot be shut off which early reports from the first crews to use the new AED have not been a big fan of...)

Some early reports of broken cables and concerns over the lid hinge being a bit fragile, but hopefully those are isolated/minor things, we'll see once we actually get to use it.

The old FR3 would run for 1 min before it'd analyze, and we kinda built our High Performance CPR protocols around that, switching compressors when it paused to analyze, the new CR2 will supposedly keep continuous ongoing analyzing through compressions, so if not using the Lucas, we'll need to keep a closer eye on the time manually, and not entirely tune out the "Place heel of hand on the other" to not miss a "Shock Advised" that isn't at the 1 minute change over (but thats a training issue, getting used to the new device)

We do like that because its cellular connected, updates are pushed automatically, and we no longer have to manually remove the Sim card to download amd email the case review to our Med Section for QA/QI, it does that automatically itself, and we can just unplug the pads from the AED and plug them directly into EMS's Lifepak which is nice (or at least more efficient than replacing pads, or keeping our AED on instead)

Guess we'll see how things go
