Im a basic, they only hire paramedics to work the streets. Basics work dispatch, even though I did hear that they might start running emt/paramedic trucks instead of medic/medic, but thats not official.

The only thing I can think of is call up TxDH and tell them whats going on. Maybe they'll help you out, see if you can test your skills threw the Navy and send in the paperwork.

Just talked with my buddy, MCHD does hire EMT-I's, not sure what all they consider ALS.

Some depts in Texas consider intermediate's ALS some don't. It depends on protocols. I'll ask my buddy if they hire I's?

I live in Houston, near them. Their double medic trucks, over a large county. I had a buddy does his paramedic clinicals up there and said it was great, he got some good calls and the crews were cool. Thats all I know, hope it helps!

I understand most of it. My instructor keeps saying that it will click and then be like second nature. I had a friend that just finished up medic school and he says the same thing.
