I am sorry if I am making a repeat thread. I am wanting to know how did you study for your paramedic national test? Did you use more of the practice books or go straight from the book? How much time did you commit to studying a day? Thank you.
I don't think this is a touchy subject, either. I say kudos to someone saying this. I have also noticed a higher percentage of open gay and lesbian EMS workers. Heck, the first Paramedic I ever worked with on an ambulance was gay. He is an outstanding Paramedic and an awesome person to work...
thanks Rid nobody said what the pre-score needed to be and I heard all diffirent scores. Instructor said 84 for post. Do you only get one attempt? I am worried I didn't do well enough.
Congrat! What program Acardian's NEMSA? What part of LA you in? I used to live in Ponchatoula, thinking about going back after my medic school is done. Good luck to you.
I work in the Dallas transport part of AMR. I believe the steps are 1) Application 2) 100 question test similar to National but less tricky 3) Oral interview which for me was about character traits, but I have done one with them in Colorado Springs, where it was scenarios 4) Physical abilities...
WOW! I am really disappointed in them for wanting to write an article like that. Yeah there have been bad EMS calls, but come on that is a slap in the face. I have a subscription to that magazine too. Shame.
How many runs do you do in a day? 4-8 varies on shift length
911 or non-emergency? ALS or BLS? The area I work is transports but we do have 911 also. We run ALS and BLS
What kind of shift(s) do you work? I am a swing shift worker due to Paramedic school. Usually 8-16 hr shifts
What area...
Hello everyone I am considering moving down to Louisiana either in New Orleans area or on the Northshore. If you are in or were in EMS in LA I would really like to get some info from you. I am considering working for Acadian or New Orleans EMS. THoughts? Also how does the state certification...
Hello everyone! I was wondering do any of you use voice recorders while your on calls, to help on your documentation? I have considered doing this because I am always worried about forgetting to write something down. Is this to close to HIPAA violation? Thanks?
amr thoughts
No I was not canned. I reapplied for my position etc.. I now am a full amr employee and so far it's not to bad. It has goods and bads. I am mainly tired of the transport service. I need 911 time.
The company I worked for just sold out to AMR. I finished the entrance paperwork and other stuff today. AMR seems ok it has perks but it also is the largest ambulance service in America so BS comes with it. I am very disappointed with their Paramedic school. I applied, took the entrance test...
Thank you
Thank you to everyone that has offered advice. I have my books and tomorrow I am going to finish Ch.1 and start some drug flashcards to memorize drug:indicationt/contraindications, dose, etc.
