Nice! This video on the average life of a firefighter in Tokyo is pretty fascinating.

 
Serious question: if you show up to shift, and the last crew member in your bunk forgot their charger, is it acceptable to use it while on shift? That's provided that A). it's compatible with your device, and B). you do the honest thing and leave it where it's at when you leave shift

Definitely pretty interesting! As many differences, there's still so many similarities to, but yeah, the intensity of their day is way more than ours lol How much is that played up for the video vice that's just the way Japan is, idk, one of these days I'd love to visit a station. Hoped to, but wasn't able to get around to it on this trip... next time!

Well, it wouldn't be the first time I've borrowed such a charger lol. I don't think most guys mind, so long as you leave it plugged in and don't abscond with it or anything like that.
 
Picked up 12hr overtime shift on the night leading into my regular shift today (we call it a Hold Under, the mirror of a hold over).

And proceeded to run as many calls as my last full 24hr shift in that half (and of course by the 3rd call at 0200, couldn't go back to sleep after), so now starting my regular full 24hrs with 5 calls already, muddling thru the morning checks and chores, like "Yup not on vacation anymore!"

Good thing we got coffee lol

I picked up a 12hr OT shift after my regular shift and slept in for three hours since it was at the same station.
