I always write that while I am honored to be selected I must be excused due to the fact that I am a volunteer ff/EMT and anything that would take me away from that would be an undue hardship on the community I serve. Always get the excusal

Nobody has ever given me a straight answer. I can't see how the city can say "ok the state has certified you as an ambulance, but we don't want you operating as one." it's basically like going to a nursing home for a call and having a nurse offer to call a "real" ambulance

I don't know if it differs state to state, but in PA you have until your expiration date. And even if you do expire all you have to do is complete the required credits. Pace yourself, that way you continuously learn
