Good transport services?

Hello. Are there any good ALS transport services out there? I’m at the point in my career where 911 isn’t as fun as it once was, and I much prefer a good ALS or critical care transfer. I hear the horror stories of all the private EMS services and was seeing where some of the better transport service in the country are? Cost of living has to play into it as well.

From the NC Area:
Duke life flight that was already mentioned

Try to find a hospital based one, they tend to be a little better than the private services.

Where in the country are looking to go? It's a pretty big place.

My fiancé is from Florida, as soon we she finishes paramedic school we are looking to move back to the west coast. Obviously she wants Florida first but we wouldn’t be opposed to other places.

Well, I hate to disappoint you, but Florida is about as far from the west coast as it gets.... maybe Maine is a little further.... 🤔

You sure you can't sweet talk her into giving the east coast a shot? ;)

I meant east. This is what happens when I try to type and talk on the phone at the same time [emoji849]

I was impressed with some of their management that I met through something unrelated. Also, they are apparently carrying blood on all ambulances.

That's my dream job if I ever go back to doing just high acuity transfer... and the fiance agreed to move that far north. Leadership is a great group of people there (That I met through unrelated things as well)

Im not super familiar with ground CCT in this area (midwest), IU Lifeline and Vanderbilt Lifeflight have ground units. Flight wise, IU lifeline and St Vincent Statflight have the strongest presence in Indiana, Vanderbilt Lifeflight in Tennessee (pretty sure you get free education with that one), Air Methods and PHI both have strong programs in Kentucky.

Avoid Illinois, fairly archaic EMS in the southern portion, and its Illinois.

It’s not like DFW isn’t literally the same as here just a little more inland lol...still hot, sweaty and Texan.

North Texas Regional is probably one of the best services out there period. They're essentially putting true CCT-level medicine out in a deployed setting, moreso than 99% of the rest of the industry and competitive with hospital-based specialty teams like the Kangaroo Crew. I mean...they're putting whole blood on every truck in their fleet, for IFT work. (Granted, this is great marketing too).

As someone who has 0 interest in CCT, and felt putting a paramedic on a CCT truck was a waste in 95% of the transports (we always had an MICN or EMT/RN on our CCT trucks), what makes North Texas regional so good, and what makes them true CCT level medicine?

Texas generally doesn’t have CCT nurses unless it’s a flight crew or specialty pediatric rig.
