In terms of education/ career, what's the next step? ( in so Cal)
Let's say FF/PM is not viable anymore, I'm contemplating furthering my education but I'm not sure where to go from here. I don't want to be a RN ( much respect to them though) and I don't want to be stuck in a box all day either. What are my options? thanks

Event medical, theme parks, cruise ships, HEMS, ER tech, and teaching. Those are the only ones that come to mind immediately.

Thank you for the reply.

PA or MD/DO? Respiratory therapist? Emergency department medics can make more money and it's definitely easier on the back than being on the road.

Why not RN? It's a solid gig and you can always go back and get your NP or CRNA. Plus you're pretty attractive for helicopter/critical care stuff as an RN/medic.

Go to medical school...
I'm thinking about it. But debt and my wife are the current obstacles. Debt is a simple fix and I'm hoping in the time to fix that I can convince my wife.

On a side note.

FP-C, ACLS, TCCC, PHTLS, PALS

Additional certificates to make qualified to work HSE Off Shore, Remote Medical, "Vessel Medic"

I hear Flight Medic in Quatar make 100k per year. I like the idea of working off shore or a remote location for a month or 2 and then having a month or 2 off to go play in the sand. See the world.
