Ok in this field we do a lot of moving around and lifting and all that good stuff lol... I am ready to retire my boots as they are shot just wondering what brands and models people have had luck with or don't like...

Thought it would be a cool thread to start so here we go

I currently have a pair of Bates and they are terrible! have lasted me a total of 5 months and are falling apart... granted they were pretty cheap and I should have known better lol

I love my Bates! I do tend to replace them every 6 months though even though they don't need it. Other than that try Galls website for more options.

I love my 5.11 ATAC 8" Side Zips... I had gone into a uniform store after hearing many people raving about their Bates boots. After trying one pair on, the clerk suggested I try the 5.11s (which were slightly cheaper). I was sold. Enough so that my father went out and bought a pair of 5.11s as well.

I have a pair of Bates, full size, hate em, 511 3/4 size, not so great, been wearing Rocky regular shoes for eleven months, best damn shoes I've ever worn. The guy at the uniform place talked me into them, eighty bucks or something close, told me mailmen swear by them. They really are comfortable and hold up.

I paid the big bucks and got some of the Haix EMS boots. They take a bit longer to break in than other boots, but one they do they're remarkable comfortable for steel toed boots.

They get really warm if you just sit around though, apparently they ventilate when you walk.

Overall, I've had them about six months and am very impressed. hoping to get two or more years out of them, we'll see.

I prefer my boots to have hobnails. Otherwise, I have no preference.

Actually, I still wear the boots I was issued in basic training. They are the most comfortable and broken in footware I own.
