So what kind of stuff do you guy's like do on a slow day on shift?

Study? work-out? Movies?

Any good station prank stories?

I for one love to fire up the BBQ in the summertime and read a good book.

as we speak I'm passing time posting this. also watching some netflix always works wonders. Im also a professional sleeper.

YouTube, Netflix, EMTLife, Google, pre-read books for medic school. I am unable to sleep while at work (policy for 12s and I actually can't sleep on the ambulance).

Back when I actively worked EMS I spent time sleeping, reading, and staring out windows. We held posts instead of having stations.

If I had to do it all over again today, I'd spend the time:

1. Working on a degree/additional schooling (online via a local college/university)
2. Finding ways to support/grow an online business
3. Reading novels
4. EMTLifing
5. NetFlix streaming (via iPad)
6. Sleeping

I read a bunch and mess around on here. Starting January 6 I'll be working and going to school full time for my BHSc, so I'm sure homework will take up much of my down time then.

I sometimes wonder what I would do without netflix!

Me and my partner just finished band of brother's. I would highly recommend watching it if you haven't already. :)

I love some Netflix too. I just finished the first season of House of Cards. I can't wait for the next one.

With so many courses being offered online these days I bet you could make some serious progress obtaining a degree while on shift. (depending on how much downtime you have)

I have heard about House of Cards, I might have to check it out!

Just started Eastbound and Down with Danny Mcbride, pretty good so far.

Amazing movie hands down.. Saving Private Ryan is still my favorite. (I am a bit biased because its based off of four brothers from Port Carbon,PA a few towns over from me)

I might have to que this I also might say I enjoyed Orange is the New Black.

To kill time on shift I study alot, EMT Life, Netflix movies. do my fantasy sport lineups. and a few other forums I frequent (car enthusiast stuff not to worry I'm not cheating on EMT life lol)

Read and research stuff on the intrawebz. I get bored with tv or movies, and the only workout I like to do is running, which I can't do on shift.

My down time is usually spent on Facebook, EMTLife, catching up on sleep or watching TV via various means. I also try to take some online CEU classes occasionally and be productive.

Its awesome. There are sex scenes and language, so it's not child appropriate, but Kevin spacey is great in it.

lots and lots of studying...there are always new things to learn

look up banana spiders if you need something to research...you will think twice before buy bananas from the grocery store
