Washington State Reciprocity

There is a lot more, but most people think Seattle when they think Washington. I enjoyed running 911 in Yakima. Lot of trauma and really sick people.

Hmmm...I may have met you out in the middle of Blackrock on a couple of occasions then.

When I called and spoke to someone they told me that I did NOT need to be affiliated or sponsored by any agency, that I could leave that portion of the paperwork blank and mail it in as is.

I'd be willing to bet that if you called them back to check on the status, they'll tell you they are waiting for your agency affiliation and county MPD to complete their portion of the paperwork.

Thank you for the advice, I will be sure to call tomorrow and find out. They definitely are not making this process easy.

Guess what? That's wrong. You MUST be affiliated with an agency to get a state card.

"2. EMS Agency Assocation Requirement and EMS Supervisor:
In order to be certified you must be associated with an EMS agency licensed by the Washington State Department of Health. Your EMS agency supervisor must complete this portion of the form."

I don't know why this is still a question. Trust me. No affiliation, no card.

No ifs, ands or buts.

Finding one can be difficult. For example, King County Search & Rescue now requires a year of service before allowing EMS affiliation, as many people were just using them to get the card.

Actually, we're not doing any new EMT affiliation until further notice, and haven't for a while now. Too many people not getting any patient contact, among other things.

I'm not surprised. I know I never had a PT contact there and never had opportunity for one. On the board, I spent most of my time mediating arguments over exciting stuff like radio frequencies. :) KCSARA is a great organization if you want to learn how to play politics with a large, diverse group of people who all have their own, very different agendas.
