Last night I received an email from TTLWHKR's wife stating that he had been seriously injured in an automobile collision on November 3.

He was flown by helicopter to a trauma facility where he remained in the ICU until recently.

I understand he is recovering slowly and should be able to go home some time next week.

My thoughts are with him and his family, and I wish him a speedy recovery.

I've been told e-mails may be sent to him at traumamedic(at)firehousemail.com and his wife will do her best to pass them along.

As a sidenote, I think it's important to say that there is no way for me to confirm this story or his condition. I simply received an email late last night from a person who stated she was Alex's wife. I told her that I'd post the story, and will allow her to continue to update this thread as she and TTLWHKR see fit.

Hopefully he is doing ok & will have a speedy/safe recovery. My thoughts & prayers are with him & his family.

PS... is it just me, or does Alex have some really bad luck... he managed to flip a Lawnmower over and get caught under it a few months back, and now this..... :o
 
We're still praying for him, I hope we hear something soon.

The difference is, this time it wasn't my fault. All I was doing was driving to work. An old Dunlop Tires delivery truck was passing (on a blind curve with a double line) a jeep trying to pull into a drive way... Said he didn't see me, till he hit my suv dead center. What a co-inky-dink, that's when I seen him too.

I won't be around as often anymore, I did start a new job two weeks ago. Even though I only work three shifts a week.

But I'll try to catch up.

I may be off for a couple weeks, we're thinking about moving closer to my job, or at least half way between Arnot and Erie. It's an awful long drive..
 
Are you ok? They said you were in ICU...you're worried about work after being in ICU a few days ago???!!! :o You must be nuts!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement...

I was in the ICU b/c my bp bottomed out, and I was "altered" from a little blood loss. But I'd rather not talk about that...

I couldn't just die.. I haven't driven my wife to a life of insanity and drinking; and we haven't made Jon marry a circus freak yet.. So my life's work is not yet complete.

Thankfully some young kid from a volly ambulance in McKean Co. paid attention to his EMT instructor.. He'd prolly remember me, I critiqued everything they did... I couldn't help it.

I can't spell.
