Being new, I didn't really know where to put this, but here goes.

Years ago, when plastic water bottles became really popular, I carried clean extras for my partner and I and whenever we ran calls with an Engine (mostly MVA's of if they were closer to a call) we would ask permission from the Engine Captain first, but we would refill our water bottles, sometimes with just plain cold water, but usually with that Sports Drink, when it first came out, that lemon-lime colored drink called "Gat***de, which was popular back then.

Well, their HQ started getting concerned about the rise in the usage of the expensive "Lemon-Lime Stuff" and pretty soon they found out why, several other crews had started bringing in water bottles too and was doing the same "refilling" thing as we were.

Well, all good things must end, the practice was stopped before it even started, hardly anybody knew about it, except a small group and we went back to buying Iced Tea at the local "Tasty Shack" Drive-In, darn it!!! :sad:

So, what do you (or did you) sip on all day?
 
My agency provides bottled water. I grab a cooler and pop a few bottles inside and we drink those throughout the shift. Also available to other responders and patients as needed.

Most of the hospitals we transport to have EMS rooms with fridges, some with just water that we grab, some have more like bottled soda or Gatorade, etc.
 
Diet Pepsi. I like the brain cancer and its going to get me before the diabetes I hope.

Same as above. Except every now and then ill grab a Monster energy drink (been having 1 per day on this deployment).
 
Muscle Milk mixed with instant coffee, and later on a cup of coffee with a scoop of muscle milk

That does not sound good at all (granted I don't like muscle milk or coffee haha)
 
usually some AZ tea. the blueberry kind is my personal favorite
 
High quality H2O in my stainless steel Sigg bottle
 
I work best if there is some blood in my coffee stream.

A tall bad boy of a Stanley thermos filled to the top with cheap gas station coffee for 1 dollar. A quart a day keeps the doc away!:D

I'm an iced coffee guy from 65 degree and up...anything cooler than that its hot coffee season.

I think I only have a mild coffee addiction, but then again, thats what my head aches tell me. :lol:

coffee in the morning, coffee in the afternoon, and for a change of pace coffee in the evening. Usually I stick to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.:)

On a more serious note, usually water with crystal light in it. In the winter I am a big tea and hot coco fan. My problem is any fluids I consume go right through me and I have to go to the bathroom 8 times a shift. This isn't an issue if we are busy I just go at the ER but if my partner is sleeping I hate to be rude.


O, I also LOVE a monster zero from time to time but energy drinks are so expensive and god awful for you.
